Information request for anyone who insures their Portuguese property with Intasure

This article applies only to those people who own a property in Portugal that they insure with us at Intasure.

We’ve been contacted by our insurer, Lloyds of London, to provide them with data regarding your property in Portugal that you currently insure with us. The data in question is the Portuguese Tax Identification Number (otherwise known as a ‘NIF’), which would have been given to you during the purchase of your property.

As a guideline, the format of the ‘NIF’ will comprise 9 digits, and not contain any spaces, dashes, full stops or other characters.

So it should look similar to this: “123456789”

Lloyds have asked us to provide this information to them as soon as possible. Please will you therefore contact us and provide us with your Portuguese ‘NIF’ before the 10th December 2021, by:

  • Email: admin@intasure.local or by
  • Phone: 0345 111 0680. (When you dial this number please confirm whether you live in the UK / Rest of the World or EEA, then choose option 3 for “customer services”.)

As a specialist insurance broker in overseas property we have noticed that local requirements have changed in the EU following Brexit. As an example, in 2017 we received a similar request from the Italian government, via our insurers, for our customers who own properties in Italy.
